- We aim the camera at your property, show you the frame before it is fixed, and move it if it takes in more of next door than it needs to.
Common Questions in Hillarys
Can I get a camera on the boat parked down the side of the house?
Yes, and what matters is where it looks from rather than what it looks at. A camera at the front of the side run, aimed down its length, catches anyone coming in past the boat and still shows the boat itself.
A camera mounted behind it records the hull and little else. If the side run is narrow, a wider lens keeps the fence from taking up the whole picture.
Can the shed at the back go on the same system as the house?
Yes. One cable run out to the shed in conduit brings it onto the same recorder as everything else, so there is one app and one place the footage lives.
The route gets planned on site, because reticulation, paving, limestone and mature roots all decide what is realistic. A sloping block with the shed below the house means a longer run, not a different system.
Do I need coastal grade mounting this far back from the beach?
It is worth it. Salt carries inland on the sea breeze and it does not stop at the first row of houses.
The cost difference is in fixings and sealing rather than in the cameras themselves, and it is what stops a bracket bolt seizing and a gland corroding a few years down the track. We treat the whole coastal side of Perth the same way.
Will a camera on the boat pad get knocked?
It will if it is mounted low. Anything at head height on a side pad eventually meets a trailer, a mast or someone carrying gear.
Those positions go up higher than they would elsewhere, which also gives a better angle down the length of the pad.
Does the garage roller door cause problems at night?
Yes. A roller door bounces infrared straight back at the camera, so a garage camera aimed square on ends up looking at a wall of glare.
It gets mounted off to one side instead, which fixes it without changing anything else.
My two storey has almost no eave at the front. Where does the camera go?
